Olivia: I’m so tired.
Shelby: Okay, I’ll drive you home.
Olivia: No, not that kind of tired. I’m talking about the tired where you don’t want to get out of bed in the morning, because you know you’re doing the same thing as you did the day before. The tired where you realize that you’re the only person in your circle of friends that isn’t married. The tired that literally eats away at you. That’s the kind of tired I am.
Shelby stays silent for a moment, contemplating what to say.
Shelby: I get it. Really, I do.
Olivia: You couldn’t possibly get it, Shelby.
Shelby: Liv, trust me. I do. I’m a single Mom at forty, I gave my first daughter up for money, no husband, no white picket fence that I’ve been dreaming of since I was a little girl. Let’s face it, life screws you over. You’re a strong woman, you’ve helped so many people. You’ve got to push past it, and I’ll be here to help you.
